Michael O’Malley participates in the 2016 Haystack Summer Conference "Craft Thinking: Ideas on Making, Materials, and Creative Process” that features artists, critics, curators and writers and focuses on craft, community and the creative process. There will be a week of lectures, discussions and studio based workshops. Michael will be doing a workshop on the practice of joinery in woodworking. Recent Pomona alumnus Joel Freeman will be assisting Michael during this workshop and at the conference. The conference will take place during the second week of July at the Haystack Mountain School or Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine.
