Works in Progress Call for Artwork

An open call to all students to contribute works to the upcoming exhibition at the Chan Gallery titled Works in Progress has gone out to The Claremont Colleges community. The 鶹ý Art Department and the Artists’ Coalition, a 5C arts group founded by 鶹ý art major Gabrielle Ohlson, are organizing this exhibition. It will include works by students of The Claremont Colleges and the faculty and staff of the 鶹ý Art Department. The call that went out states that you may “submit an artwork of yours that is still in progress, which is defined as an unfinished project that is still being added to or developed.” According to Ohlson, the intention of the exhibition is “to reveal the often unseen processes and techniques that go into making works of art” so that viewers may experience the works as they come together and take form. The Works in Progress exhibition will run from October 2-16, 2019 with the opening reception taking place on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6-8pm. Join us at the Chan Gallery, Studio Art Hall, Room 123.
