Sergio Rodriguez '16 is taking his studies in international relations and French to the next level as a part of the IES European Union program based in Freiburg, Germany. The program gives students 22 days of travel time to gain exposure to the workings of the European Union and Western institutions. For example, Rodriguez recently visited the Permanent Delegation to Turkey in Brussels, where he spoke with Turkish officials about Turkey's accession to the EU. "My Pomona experience has been a life-long class about human inclusion and tolerance of cultural differences. Studying abroad in the European Union, I am able to dive deeper into Eurocentric academia and thought, which has influenced the understanding we have of the world today."
