ALTERNATE ENDINGS, ACTIVIST RISINGSreflects the persisting urgencies of today’s HIV/AIDS epidemic by pointing to pressing and intersecting political concerns, including HIV criminalization, Big Pharma, access to healthcare, and the disproportionate effects of HIV/AIDS on marginalized communities. At a moment of growing interest in the histories of AIDS activism, ALTERNATE ENDINGS, ACTIVIST RISINGS foregrounds contemporary engagements between activists, artists, and cultural workers on the front lines.
7 p.m. Decorate luminary bags to line the candlelight vigil and walk on World AIDS Day 2018. Help bundle donated hygiene products to distribute to homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS. “Painting with prophylactics” activity with condoms and tempera paint.
Refreshments will be served.
