Â鶹´«Ã½ Named a Top Producer of Fulbright Students

Â鶹´«Ã½ has been named one of the top producers of U.S. Fulbright students for 2022-23 among baccalaureate institutions, as reported by .

The Fulbright program seeks to promote international understanding by offering awards for one year of research, university study or English language teaching abroad. For 2022-23, nine recipients from Â鶹´«Ã½ were awarded Fulbright grants, and seven of them accepted. At Â鶹´«Ã½, the Fulbright competition is administered through the Career Development Office.

The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries. It is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program. The primary source of funding for the program is an annual appropriation made by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Fulbright alumni work to make a positive impact on their communities, sectors and the world and have included 41 heads of state or government, 62 Nobel Laureates, 89 Pulitzer Prize winners, 78 MacArthur Fellows and countless leaders and changemakers who carry forward the Fulbright mission of enhancing mutual understanding.

Pomona is one of the founding members of the undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions that make up the consortium of . Pomona students may supplement the College’s already comprehensive curriculum by taking classes at any of the undergraduate Claremont Colleges. The more than 2,700 courses available include intercollegiate majors and a wide range of language offerings.

Bowdoin College was No. 1 on the list of top producers of Fulbrights for bachelor’s institutions.
